A Social Media Plan

Failing to plan is planning to fail!

We all know by now that social media is not fad. We’ve all heard at some point or another that social media is dying. Twitter isn’t growing as expected, businesses aren’t happy with Facebook’s News Feed, etc. etc.

Doubters will always exist, they’ve been doubting social media since it first started but while haters hate and doubters doubt social media will continue to change and evolve. Social media isn’t just a passing fad for business and there’s a lot data to prove it.

“Social media is not only more cost-efficient than advertising, but it also offers great opportunities for innovative engagement with your customers. Use it to your advantage.”- Richard Branson

Knowing that its not a fad and believing in it’s power makes us all, individuals, business, brands and SMEs want to use it because as Richard Branson said “Social media is not only more cost-efficient than advertising, but it also offers great opportunities for innovative engagement with your customers. Use it to your advantage.” But before you jump in a create your accounts and post your first post or tweet you need to plan. Yes, plan!

If you enter into social media without a plan, you will fail. You need to plan because if you don’t the hours you spend will be wasted, you will receive no traffic, there will be no engagement, no one will care and you will learn nothing. Social media is like anything you do in life, you wouldn’t jump into a pool without knowing how to swim, you wouldn’t drive a car without learning how to do so, same goes with social media don’t create a Twitter account without knowing how to use it.
