Reboot Your Life ..

Did you recharge your cell phone yesterday? What about your laptop? Have you taken your car in for a check up lately? And when was the last time you took the time to recharge yourself? Not just for a day, a week or even a month—but for an extended period of time. When is the last time you took a real break?

It’s been a120712-Burnout-275x275 while since I have taken time off to relax and re-examine my priorities. I’ve been so busy with work to the extend where I hardly recognize the unhappy woman staring back at me in the mirror. I so don’t like the person I have become, I used to be the hopeful, engaging, energetic person in a group. Today, I am a walking, stressed out doormat.

For a very long time there was no time for me to rest, meditate and reflect and today I feel guilty for all what I have done to me.  It feels like being at the end of my rope and I can’t figure out how to climb back up.

One of the weird things about some of us is our endless obsession with being productive and how we tend to ignore all of the “burnout” signs.

Take time off. Take a complete break from work. Go on vacation, use up your sick days, do anything to remove yourself from the situation. Use some time away to recharge your batteries and take perspective, disconnect because the real lessons come with space and distance. You must realize that you are responsible for your own happiness, and the only way to make things right is to take a break, reboot and to take back control of my own life.
